It Was Never Just a Housing Project
How Yountville Commons began as an act of civic repair before it became a political argument
Yountville Commons was never merely a housing proposal. It was the old school reopened: the fences removed, the library reused, the cafeteria revived, the garden replanted, the field returned to public life. Housing was part of the vision because the people who sustain Yountville also need a place in Yountville. But the Commons began as something larger: a civic reclamation project at the center of town. This Conceptual Site Plan was approved unanimously by the Town Council in March 2025.
